Adding a round
After creating your competition, it's time to start building rounds. To do this, click "Add Round" and follow the prompts.
A window will pop up, asking for details about the round you wish to add.
Select the round size relevant to your competition.
Selecting "Auto generate all matches for the round" will fill the round with empty matches for you to fill with schools.
If you'd like Dash to place schools into the matches based on their distance from each other, select "Auto fixture match candidates by best location". If you want to swap some schools that have been automatically placed, first remove them, then add them to the correct spot. Please refer to the article Progressing Through the Competition, and look under "Drag and Drop" for more information about how to add schools to matches.
Travel distance information
While in edit mode, go to settings by clicking the cog icon. Activate the "Show Distance Indicator" to be given an indicator of travel distance between schools in a match. You can read more about the other functions in settings here.
- Green - Short travel time
- Yellow - Medium travel time
- Red - Long travel time
To see information about the trip between schools, click the magnifying glass next to a match, and then click "show travel distance".
Editing and deleting rounds
To delete a round, click the red button with a bin
To edit the name or date of a round, go to the blue button
Remember that nothing is saved in the competition builder unless you click the green button "Save", and all competitions start off as hidden from the public website. This means you can edit and learn the software without fear.
Further Rounds
You can continue creating as many rounds as necessary.
You will not be able to auto fixture match candidates on location after the first round. Instead you will be given a new feature:
Auto Map Progression from Preceding Round
This will progress schools from the preceding round into the next round using a placeholder text (for example, winner of "Round 1 Match 13").
Now your rounds have been created, you have the ability to progress each team through accordingly.
